The Artistic Look of an Idol
Both world-class idols in their own right, makeup artist, Zing, and costume designer, Titi Kwan, sat down exclusively with Lane Crawford on the eve of her Hong Kong performance, to talk about their inspirations and process of creating the image of Faye Wong for her 2011 tour. A concept divided into 5 chapters, they created a look starting with Winter, and moving on to Spring, Summer, Autumn, and the final chapter is Reincarnation.
Zing has yet again worked his magic to give Faye five dramatic looks, all requiring a quick turnaround; while, Titi has perfected an elegant and cutting-edge wardrobe, citing Madeleine Vionnet as his muse.

“I try to push the silhouette. To change the silhouette is to change the thinking of how we look. What I do is look at ancient African tribes, and the way they dress. The rituals of how they dress. . . . There’s a lot of tribalism in the collections.
